Lift Up Your Voice Speech Services

Voice Therapy

Voice is defined as a sound produced by the larynx and uttered through the mouth as speech or song. Problems with the voice can arise as a result of anatomical changes that occur because of vocal behaviors, surgery or disease.

Voice therapy works by eliminating harmful vocal behavior, shaping healthy vocal behavior and assisting in vocal fold healing following surgery or injury.

Some examples of vocal problems that our specialist can provide voice therapy for are as follows:

  • Vocal fold lesions, nodules, polyps & cysts

  • Fluency/Accent Reduction

  • Vocal fold paralysis

  • Vocal quality: Hoarseness, weakness, rate of speech

  • Accent reduction

*Remember the most important part of voice therapy is the client’s commitment to the process and generalization of things learned in therapy outside of the therapy session*
